Software Engineer

What you would work on

• Build and maintain Python and TypeScript backend services, APIs and integrations across our ventures.
• Design data models and SQL queries, and build reliable pipelines to ingest, transform, validate and deliver data.
• Develop background jobs and workflows with sensible retries, monitoring and error handling.
• Contribute frontend features and internal tools, connecting interfaces to backend APIs and handling loading, empty and error states.
• Write tests, review code, document decisions and support deployment, debugging and ongoing operation.
• Work with the Principal Engineer and operators to turn product needs into maintainable software.

What you should bring

• Practical experience building software with Python and TypeScript, and the ability to explain your implementation choices.
• Backend fundamentals: HTTP APIs, authentication and authorisation, relational databases, and asynchronous processing.
• Data engineering skills: SQL, ETL or ELT pipelines, data quality checks, and handling changing source data.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and experience contributing to a frontend codebase.
• Confidence using Git, automated tests and debugging tools, with attention to security and clear communication.

Useful extras include React, cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD, queues and AI integrations. Share relevant projects or practical work; explain what you built and the trade-offs you made.
